Great movie! One that I know I will be adding to my own collection in the future, and also one that I will recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a great Sci-Fi adventure.
Having only known some vague concepts of the general plot line, that helped me get up to speed on the story very quickly, but I don't think it was necessary to know the story ahead of time. I felt the writers and directors did a good job of setting the stage, so that as the actors began telling the tale the audience was quickly drawn in.
The main character, played by Asa Butterfield, was brilliantly done! As a matter of fact, I find it difficult to find any fault with any of the actors in this film. Harrison Ford (Colonel Graff) performed admirably, Ben Kingsley (Mazer Rackham) put in a stellar performance as always (I have personally not seen any performance of his that I didn't think he did a stellar job in), as did Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Viola Davis, and so many others. Casting was spot-on for this film!
I really have no critique for this film. I thought it was brilliantly done all the way through, from every aspect of set, costume, direction, dialogue...excellent job by all involved. Congratulations on a great film!

Ender’s game is a very well done movie. Full of action and
some deep thinking, the director has done an excellent job keeping to the
story. The most important scenes were displayed accurately. Some people may
feel that the actor chosen for the job does not adequately age. But though he
does not age physically during the movie, the “aging” was still evident through
the words he used and the way he did things as the movie progressed.
One disappointing factor was that in the book, Peter and
Valentine were devising their own political schemes back on earth, but this was
never shown nor implied during the movie.
The special effects were great, the way the battle room was
portrayed was amazing, and the way the movie progressed was evenly paced.
Overall, a very good movie, one I recommend to those who have read the book, as
well as to those who haven’t.
